We're working on a 1970 Challenger former Pro Stock car, and looking to find best quality fiberglass fenders and flat hood. I've checked VFN, Unlimited Products, AAR (doesn't have fenders), and Showcar websites, but am looking for recommendations. Any of you guys used any of their fenders? Recommendations of any company I should use? Thanks for the help.

You are in IL ... go with VFN. And IF YOU CAN ...pick-them-up ... you will get better quality parts that way.

Thanks Doc. Picking them will get me better parts because I will be able to inspect them? Or because they won't be abused in shipping?

I have US body source fenders for my Road Runner. Not perfect, but with a little work, they will be just fine. Not alot of choices sometimes.

ACTUALLY three reasons ..... INSPECTING them ? - Yes ...possible abuse in shipping ? ..YES. And ALSO the saving of shipping costs.

Just a little bit of FYI .... this stuff is probably not in stock so it will have to be made-to-order. Ask them NOT to primer-paint ANY of the parts. LOTS of companies do-this to hide screw-ups that POP UP later.

Jerico, I checked their website and they don't make fenders for the Challenger, but thanks anyways!
Keith, that's the information I need, thanks a lot!
Doc, great tips on getting the parts and skipping the primer, I would not have thought of that, thanks very much!

AMX ...and anyone else .... BEWARE of primered parts ESPECIALLY if painted on the inside. What this is meant to do is HIDE (most likely) ...air-bubbles in the fiberglass-laminate that POP UP (more times) long after the parts have been painted.

That can be a massive horror-show.

I would call Glasstek. I believe they are located up in Naperville, Il. The stuff Ive got from them has always been excellent.

VFN is in Addison ...GT is waaaaay north and west of there.

You could always MAKE THEM beat each-others prices ....

That would add to THE DRAMA that the two companies have always had !!

10 and Challenger, I will call Glastek tomorrow, but from what I can tell, they don't make fenders for the Challenger, just hoods, trunk, and a clip.
Thanks for the recommendation, they are fairly close to me.

Doc, thanks again for the warning on fiberglass itself, I'll check it closely.

VFN makes fenders for the Challenger. My hood is VFN and it is outstanding quality but like said earlier, you better order now if you want it by racing. They take their time making the stuff.

I've got VFN stuff on my '70 Challenger 1 pc front end (they also make fenders with headlight buckets) 2 hoods, fiberglass dash, rear bumper and valance pan all quality parts. Great customer service, but give at least 6 wks.
