My brother now wants to change the plugs when we do his EGR valve on his '08 Durango 5.7 . He says there are 2 per cylinder. Is that correct and is it a pain to change them?

Yes, there is 2 per cylinder & not real bad to do if you've done them before. Half are COP(Coil on Plug), the other half have a plug boot & wire.

NOT too bad?
They are not fun. HALF of the cylinders are under the windshield. You need to be limber to reach them. Overweight people may have trouble, unless you have long arms.
My 2007 Ram 1500 needs plugs again. The first time I changed them, it took me 2 hours. I do expect to shave a little time when I do the next set.
Finally, some auto parts guys will try to push you into platinum or some other useless plug upgrade. Tell them that you want OEM stock type plugs. There is no performance to be gained with the more expensive plugs with a stock engine.

When I had my 06 300C in for repairs,I was quoted 249.00 installed--got them to do it.
I cannot do it myself for that price after I sized up the job and saw the potential aggravation.

IT HAS BEEN REPORTED that the area should be cleaned first prior to removing the coil-pak or whatever is over the dual plugs to ensure that no gnarly crap falls into the plug hole causing mayhem in the motor.

My kid did his in the 04 Ram in less than an hour.He installed Champion Platinum s and picked up a little in gas milage.First set had about 30K on them and these have been if for probally 35K.We always use a dab of antisieze on the plugs and the coil over bolts. That and use some dielectric grease on the boots.Rocky
