I don't care if chromed, black, polished or natural ( I would go If I do, with natural anyway, or maybe polished )... just want to see it, since all pics I have found are just referential pics Better if the regular one, not the "one wire" alt, although a one wire alt is really the same regular alt with a mounted on regulator Please... I'm trying to discover is the 100 amps alt looks like this: or like this: dunno if you note the difference, and is not the pulley

yes thats my guess too ( the one on bottom )... that alt is around 1 and a half milimeter wider, and its a TIGHT fit on engine, but want to be sure.
Beside being the stator visible like the one on top is the correct look for a 74

Does it have to be a Tuff Stuff unit or the standard 100 amp unit from the factory?

standart 100 amps factory is a leece neville alt... totally diff deal, requires diff bracketing, belts, and even upper hose radiator. The bigger stock piece on this look is 78 amps.

I have the 100a Tuff Stuff alternator in black. It is this one:
and has the wider stator magnet.
ok, so, its with both housings meeting in the middle, right ?
For all of you guys what don't know, the unit ( on stock form ) with both housings meeting in the middle is wider than the one with the visible stator magnet between housings and gets some clearence problems with block and back of alt, requiring longer belts to get it away from block.
Also rear spacer need to be trimmed out a little bit to fit it easier between engine and upper bracket, if not, the alt assembly will push out the upper bracket a little bit
If you don't trim the rear spacer will fit anyway, but tighter and harder to mount
thats why I'm asking about this. I'm searching for the better fit unit, 100 amps ( already got from tuff stuff they feed out around 45 amps at iddle what is the main goal, not really the full 100 amps, what mostly sure will never require )and stock look cast or polished.
