Hey, Guys just curious. What kind of restore things do you get accomplished during the winter?
My Cuda is sitting there with time wasting by. I did buy a nice heater that warms the place up in minutes, but no matter what you do, welding, grinding,etc,.. you have to open the door.
24 degrees outside, inside about 45 w/o the heat on.

This is the stage its at...

I dress warm and open the door. I do use a infer-red heater that does a great job with the door open.

Been working on big trucks outside for 25 years now, it's quite comfortable in my open door garage in comparision.

I'm renewing the interior...

After all these years having a 440 I realized that this means having an attitude... and a budget.

Yep, if you can't get motivated to work in the cold garage, it's time to go through the bags of parts and clean/plate/paint. It will make assembly that much nicer and quicker. Do an inventory so you are sure you have all the stuff ready.
If you are doing the whole paint daub and inspection marks thing, you can make stencils and stamps, select the right colors and practice applying.
There was a great restoration list that covered the whole process, start with that and add unique stuff to your build, so when you are ready to assemble, you already have a plan of attack that has been thought out. Stuff like the windshield goes in after the dash, so you aren't fighting those top screws. Set up your restored parts in order of this and again you can make the assembly quicker and easier.

It's no fun being in the shop when it drops in to the 50s

Actually taking a winter car break, but that's from Christmas and other stuff sucking up my car money.

RodStRace said it all. Get a reassembly plan and go into action.

If you can clear a workbench someplace warm, do the subassemblies that fit inside so you have them ready when it's their time:
- Sandblast, prime and paint all suspension parts, k-frame, struts, rods, bars, brake assemblies, seat tracks, engine brackets, engine mounts, steel fan shroud, radiator fan.
- Rebuild the carb. Recurve the distributor.
- Maybe get the engine rebuilt. Detail the engine accessories.
- Refinish AC compressor, power steering pump, power steering chunk.
- Refurbish steering column.
- Instrument cluster, radio, center console, reupholster seats, restore panels, armrests.
- Rechrome plastic and metal trim. Polish the stainless.

I got a lot of small painting done by rigging up a home made paint booth in the mechanical closet in my basement: Big cardboard box, duct tape, a greenhouse exhaust fan, a residential-forced-hot-air-furnace-filter in front of the fan. Hooked some clothesdryer-vent-flex-pipe from the fan to an outside outlet. We now call it my "cave" and it's full of finished parts in milk crates waiting for warmer weather.
