Ive done some research but im looking for some tips from those that have cusotm setups. In a few weeks I will be having my setup made by a friend but I dont think he has ever done a turbo setup. He is a welder for a living and he has done work for me in the past so I have no doubt in his ability.

Turbo will be from supernatural. Its a 88mm GT55 with a 1.08 a/r T6 99mm GT47 turbine. I will be using flipped shorties with 1.5" primaries and 2.5" collectors. All hot side piping will be 2.5" 304 SS with v-bands. Exhauset and DP will be 5" aluminum. Wastegate will be a 60mm tial dumped back into the DP and I will have a tial bov as well.

Does anyone have tips on fabricating everything?

thanks

Looks like you have everything you need! Just make sure you fab a bracket for the turbo to mount to. This should be mounted to the engine. Don't hang the turbo from the headers. This will reduce the possibility of the headers cracking.

you wont need a 5 inch down pipe, 4 will do. and easier to package.

don'tb waste time and money building a fancy set of tuned headers. a simple log will take care of all your needs. I made over 1400hp with a set of 179.00 Sandersen street rod block hugger headers.
The twin turbo Hemi just tested on the chassis dyno used plain old simple log headers to produce 2370 RWHP at 28lb boost. I have yet to have anything more complex in design used on any of my turbo builds. Fancy looks nice but not a must that's for sure

Would there be any problems having the mount come off the frame if I have solid motor mounts? Its not a motor plate.

There is a ton of room for the exhaust so I thought it would be better to go 5"?

I still think it should be mounted to the head or something. Since there is no motor plate anyhow! If you want to mount it to the frame you will need to install a flex joint somewhere before the flange. The bad is these flex joints tend to leak in a short period tho!

I want to mount it to the head but I want to place the turbo behind the passenger headlight and thats pretty far from the head but right over the frame rail. What about a rubber mount between the brace and the frame? Something like a tranny mount?

Im finally starting to tack the piping and im wondering what is considered enough clearance for things like the radiator hoses etc. Right now I have about 1" of clearance between the piping going into the turbine flange and my lower rad hose. If everything is wrapped do you think that would be enough?

if space permits you could use a braided hose which can be smaller than the rubber and still flow enough.I have -16 in and out of my radiator. another thing with the braided is you might be able to use ends with angles to make the braided hose get routed in a different manner. I had probelms and at one point came from the pump and when down under a frame tube. Then had a 90 degree end on it entering from the below the radiator

the top had a very bad angle to deal with because the connection points were too close. The stiffness of braided allowed it to be position and when tightened stay as put

My experience is to mount the turbo solid where it fits. The header that is closest to the turbo will be the more difficult of the two as it has be short enough that you can still have room for the collector and a pipe to dump into the turbo. The other side will have a little give, so building that header to match the first makes the most sense In most cases. I refused to remove my fender wells so I was harder on myself than need be.

So this is what i have so far. The passenger side will blend in where the 3-2.5" reducer is. I will locate the wastegate on the 90* before the turbo. Does anyone have suggestions or see any issues I may run into?

I did the best I could lining up the 3" pipe but it was complete crap to begin with. I will never order from RPS again.

Thanks

I would put a flex in the cross over pipe in front of the harmonic balancer, it allows expansion and contraction of the pipes. buy the kind without the braided inside
