Where is the fluid level on 727's in relation to the case and/or internals. I am adding an aftermarket locking dipstick tube and am trying to get the level figured out. I don't have an original tube to check. I was hoping someone has been thru this already. The measurement i am looking for is how many inches above the pan rail?

what im told is that the level should be at the place where the dipstick goes,, right at the top,,,,

i was told like if the car was running you could pull the dipstick tube out and what ever spills out didnt need to be in there...

i measured from the dipstick flange to the bottom of the dipstick,, then made a mark up from the bottom of the dipstick at the point

The FULL mark on the dipstick is about 1/4" above the flat area where the dipstick tube is inserted into the case.
