Here is another option this is a spray greese that dries hard. It kind of simulates the dipping process the factory used back in the day.

Another option...Oops...all ready mentioned.. Real cosmoline...I do all mine this way...Gets expensive to buy 5 gallons if you're only doing one set, but I've now done dozens of them to date...I like to assemble them with bushings etc..BEFORE dipping so you don't have to handle them as much...
