YYEEAAAHHH!! Overnight camping allowed!!
If you look at what time I put the post on this site, it was pretty late and I wanted to get your attention. As you guys know , I make fiberglass for the Mopars and I race what I sell also. Over that past 5 or so years there has been a lot of people wanting me to put on some races, and I have been asking questions to these same people as to what they want. I asked so many questions , and found out that there were a lot of cars and drivers out there that have never raced against a Ford, Chevy, Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Edsel, or even a Corvair. Now's their chance to confirm that the Mopars will stay in the winner's circle. I have the info on my web site about the race, www.sledcityevents.com , and if you have any questions about anything, you can call me ( for show, swap, mfg.midway ), or Boyd Peck, ( Race Director ). Our numbers are on the site. One thing that is new is the style of pricing for the swap meet and the Mfg. Midway. All swap spots are $75 for as much room as you need. You could have a pickup load or a semi load and driver = $75, pay at the gate. We will have a mixed make car show on Saturday and an all Mopar car show on Sunday. We will have Gassers, Nostalgia Super Stosks, Traditional Hot Rods, Sportsman, Pro, Super Pro, and of course "The Bad Boys " running 5.75 and quicker in the 1/8 mile. All front and rear engine dragsters are welcome and all other cars will be 1974 and older. We want this to be a hassel free event where people will meet new friends and have a good time. Tell your friends about this new race that will be around for along time to come. Everybody remembers the Spring Nationals, now it has Nostalgia !

Here ya go Eric: Sportsman $1950--Pro $2440--Super Pro $2300--Gasser $1800--Traditional Hot Rods $1000--Nostalgia Super Stock $1800--Bad Boys $2000. On Saturday ,N/SS, Gassers and T/HR all run for class trophies and there will be a Gamblers race with a 80% payback. Sunday , all the eleminator brackets run for the cash. Hope to see all the Moparts guys there and maybe one of the members of this forum could set up a hospitality tent for all the forum members, sign in book , etc. etc. This is something new that we are doing and have learned from the disasters of others. We are open to ideas that will benifit the whole event to make it better. Got an idea? Do you want to get in on the ground floor with a small sponsorship of this event that will get larger year after year? Contact me through my PM. If you have an Old Racer that hasn't ran down the track for years and years and maybe not even running, dust it off and get the mice beds out of it and lets put it on display. Show the new racers what we ran back then. If you have one , contact me. Thanks, The Glassman

This sound like a great race similar to the supercar shootouts that Quaker City use to have. The only draw back is dealing with the 500 Camaros and Novas that show up.
Well , if 500 Camaro and Novas do show up, they are racing by the same rules as the Mopars, Buicks, Olds, and Crosslys. If I remember right, the tower at NTR says "Only The Strong Survive". We have a payout structure that will be on our site in about a week and the moneys that were posted already on this site was a total class pay out. This event will get bigger and better every year. I wouldn't worry about getting beat by a Chevy or Ford, It's those Bob George Racing Team cars I would want to avoid

sounds like a great race glassman!! i'll be there!! p.s those BG boys are tough!
Don't count out those BGR girls either, there was a great write up on Shelly Casini The only problem is the stench off all those Chevys,I have flashbacks of the "real old hogpen days",those Chevys smell worse. It's great that Larry and others are stepping up and providing more events to race.
