So far I like my XS S1600. I've been running it almost a year. I have a step down for my fan and water pump, they both are compatable with the 16v but sometimes I charge the battery while running both the fan and pump and they smell like they dont like that.
That's a good point Laverne. I do the same thing while on the charger. Are you running an alt with the S1600?

There are some affordable lithiums out there, Brian. I am a dealer for the XS lithium series. But if I were to get a regular AGM I would get the XS lightweight
Ben, what are the affordable lithiums? I am only aware of the XS for racing use.

I AM SWITCHING TO 16V but elected to buy a 12-16 volt powermaster alternator. I can use it on any 12v or 16v system as it is adjustable. This way I have no real need for the 16v charger. as for between rounds cooling etc. a seperate line from the fan and pump plugs into a pair of 6v golf cart batteries in the trailer connected in series now making 12v . They have enough amps to use them all day and not need a single recharging. They recharge when the truck is running.

So, those running the lightweight XS....you are running only 1 battery right? Even with no alt?

Alot of great ideas there Fred. I really want to run an alternator....not sure I've seen the "adjustable" version before. Are you going to use a step down for the fan/water pump and turn the alt up to 16V? This is the only way to keep the battery charged without a charger right? I like the idea of being able to hook up to another power source at the trailer for cooling.
