Does any one have close up OR clear photos of the machining required on the inside of the valley (extra head bolt bosses in the valley), when fitting Comp 8043 roller lifters. I saw a few in a MM mag on a build that AndyF did but the pics are a bit small and low res. My concern is how much can I mill off, considering the water jacket is directly under this area that requires machining. Also is it worth machining the extra material off the lifter bosses on these blocks....does it weaken this area any? Thanks in advance Macka

WOW! That is some seriuos machine work in the valley, bet it sheds some weight! I see from photo 1 that you can machine quite a bit from the inside, where the extra headbolt boss was. Is there still plenty of meat before hiting water?
Thanks for the pics!
Yes there is plenty of material right where the head bolt bulge is, the thin area is on both sides of the head bolt bulge where the rivets will ride in a normal roller lifter.
I've done about 30 59* R3's for roller lifters & only one hit water. Just bad bad core shift on that block, normally there is around .150" left after clearancing.
MrP yes this is my own CNC program. We've been clearancing them on CNC for about 4 years.
