Hey guys

this one is drivin' me nuts...so here goes:

Wiper motor died on my 91 Acclaim, so I replaced it with a new one (not rebuilt) from NAPA. It worked for 1 day and died. So, I got another one, it worked a little, but would stick and no park position. Now, I'm one the 3rd NAPA unit and it works fine but again, no park. ???

Is there something else on the car that I'm overlooking, in the delay switch or something that would cause it to loose park? Or, is it just my luck that I've gotten 3 bad NAPA units in a row?? What do you all think?

Thanks!

JS

Adventure sport, you may need to ground the wiper assembly better. Run a separate ground from the motor to the body. I went through issues on my 89 spirit. It worked fine until we had a huge snowstorm or rainstorm then it would quit. Finally spoke to a real expert and his suggestion was right on. I now have a separate ground wire on mine and it works 100% of the time and has never stopped once.
Mine also will not return to "really deep" home if trying to do so with the car at speed. Seems the wind tends to hold the wipers up. I return them when the car is sitting still.

Thanks Tom

yeah, my Acclaim does the same thing at speed, the wipers hold up a little bit, but no big deal

just that now they don't "park" at all..? I'll try an extra ground wire and see what I can come up with...I tried that when the 2nd one died and it didn't help it come back to life, but this one is working so I'll see what happens....thanks
