Nice! I'm a big Duster 360 fan and a Pure Stock fan so no surprise I like the car, I guess. Nice color too!

Keep the updates coming.

Thanks Dave!
I should probably mention this was a slant 6 car that I'm cloning into a 360.The drivetrain is in it but it has not been fired.I was lucky enough to buy a complete set up from a parted 360 Duster in MI.

I wonder why LOL! You were a big help on parts for this car I might add.

Tom, the interior is not in the car but its black bench auto on the column, radio delete, was going to be heater delete but hear the rules for 2011 have changed.Heard anything on that Tom?
I'll post more pics as I start to put it back together.

Nancy says it needs hood blackout as well.

I'm sure there is no new rule about heater delete and if it were me I would be leaving it out. With the new compression rule you could go up to 10 to 1 That and the extra cubes along with the TQ could all add up to be one of the most potent small block combos.

Spend some time putting it together right and keep it as light as you can and you should have a sweet little ride. Let me know if you need any help

Thanks Dave, stripes will be black when it gets them.

Tom have you seen the hood blackout for 74? Not as cool as the 71-72 style.
Hopefully it can be heater delete because most of the system was missing or broken when I got the car.Don't really want to track the stuff down right now.
I plan on building another 360 for it later to take advantage of the new rule. This "true" stock motor is just to get me out there on a shoestring budget.I'm intimidated by the TQ,I'm sure I'll need some pointers. You helped alot on my six pack when I got it running.
This will also be my sons first car.He turns 15 next month so I have some time to play.

Hey Seth. Tim in Walton here. I got that 74 #'s 360 4spd Duster home from LaPorte. It's great and a survivor as well. It's a radio delete but somebody added a radio with ant. Were did you get that plug?? I want to change this back to correct.

Hey Tim,
I put a want ad here on Moparts and maybe FABO I can't remember.Anyway a guy in OH responded and said he had one that he took off a car 20 years ago or something like that.I was surprised to actually find one.I paid what some would say was too much money but I was happy.

You going to bring the Duster to the Purestock drags like the previous owner did?I think you would dig it.

I used a product called Picklex on it after I used a DA to remove everything above the sheet metal. The Picklex gets in the pores and turns the rust black.Time will tell if it works I guess.
Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

Here you go Tom.Keep in mind the engine was in the car when it went to the bodyshop so I have a lot of cleaning yet to do.
It fired up yesterday and ran 6-7 minutes before the top tank of the radiator started leaking from a small stress crack near the filler neck.Need to fix that before I run it any longer.

Shouldn't that car have a bigger radiator?

It should also have power brakes, but I don't think he's done fully converting it from it's former life as a /6 car. Sweet ride. I'm still diggin' that color.

You both are correct. The car should have a 26in radiator and power brakes. The radiator in there now is a 74 318 a-body radiator.Didn't want to hack up the core support if this radiator will cool it.On the brake side of things, unless someone is going to donate a correct a-body booster and associated bracketry, its going to stay manual disc. That stuff just isn't laying around anymore like it used to.My old 440 dart had the same set up and I had no issues with stopping.

Best run so far is a 13.78@100.5 at the Stanton Purestock event last September.Ran a 13.79 and lots of 13.8s as well.Might swap out the 3.55's for some 3.92's for next year.I shift at 5k and also cross the line at that RPM.
Thanks for the kind words guys!
