Well I have asked about this before and I have found a cam that based on this forum and other reading I believe is a good choice.
Putting a B&M 174 on the following.Old DLI-Kit.
Estimate 6--8lbs. of boost.
The car is a 3,600lb. B-body auto,2,500-conv. {may go 4spd. later}3.55 rear headers full exhaust.
Mostly fun street,some track time,,,,Nats,CC events,etc....
383 +.030 ,452 iron heads 2.14/1.81,may go Aluminum Stage-6. Compression will be 8.5--8.8.
950HP Holley,electric pump etc....
Cam is a Crane HYD.#683801
222/234@.050-278/290adv.
.467/.494-lift,,,114-C/L. 1,800--5,600 power band.
What do you think?

For that level of boost, that cam is fine, especially if you have it already.

However, with that heavy of a car, small of cubes, low gearing, small cam, you need to run more compression like 9.5:1 or your car will be very lazy until some boost. Also, that carb is waaaaay to big for your turbo or NA application.

I would keep what you have at that boost level. I assume you have a stock crank, rods etc. The smaller cam will keep your power range in alot lower rpms and your rotating assembly will thank you for it.

One day I will have something cool here.

OK,still learning,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
But don`t have a TURBO, will have a small blower.
Carb wise, how can it be "too big" as long as the signal/fuel curve is right?
That CRANE Cam. is smaller than what is in it now and runs OK,not a tire shredder but a high 13 car.
As far as compression the charts on the KB-piston site for supercharging says 8-lbs. should run 8-to-1 comp.?

Please explain your advise a little further.
I want to understand WHY,not just do this and don`t do that.

I was told not to spin the blower past 6,000 crank speed anyway, and the cam should be done around 6,000 as well.
Does that make sense?
What am I not seeing?

that will be a fun car!
will you use a power valve in the carb?
will you change the opening point of the sec's to open sooner?
i hope your car will run high 11's but i am not sure.

You sound okay with the combo you have in mind. That carb would be real big for a n/a or blow through boosted 383, but sitting on top of a roots blower I think you would be okay. I have no experience with the 950's but I hope they will give the driveability you want. Your cam will be fine. I agree with your line of thinking, you want to gear that blower to max it out at your max crankshaft rpm. So having both done at 6k should work well. Just do your research and make sure you aren't leaving any hp on the table with your supercharger gearing. I ran a 440 with slightly more cam(226/234 on a 110LSA) with smogger 70's 7.5 compression pistons and it ran and drove fine once I had the timing and carb dialed in. Should be a strong running combo.

Might want to boost reference the power valve. The rest sounds good enough to me.

Yes I`ve looked into this already, does`nt seem like a big deal. I have done MUCH more intricate mods on my 6-bbl.

Thanks for the feedback

As far as the 950-Holley. I just figured get the biggest affordable carb and if I want more power later I already have a big leaker.
If the consensus is a smaller 850,those are cheaper with more choices.
950 vs. 850?????

i believe in the bigger is better and the reasone for opening the sec on the carbs sooner for more hp/tq sooner.[1to1 pri/sec opening.]
