Somebody please help me, I have been trying to figure this out for several months.

I have a 96 Ram with a mild 408 and a A518(46RE) It is misfiring terribly, running very rich, will barely run at all when it shifts into Overdrive and wont shift out of second when coming to a stop or at idle.

I have been through the entire ignition including the coil, distributor, wires, and plugs. I pulled the engine and cam to ensure that there wasnt a cam lobe wiped out or the timing chain had skipped; all checked out sat.

The computer was recently reflashed by BG Performance with a "408 Tune" and found to be working well.

When it started running like this, it showed a P1763 code for the Governor Pressure Sensor Voltage being too high. I replaced the sensor and that did nothing.

The shop that built the transmission claims no responsibility and that its the computer sending the wrong signal to the governor and thats why its running so poorly.

There's some sort of interaction between the O2 sensor and the trans that can cause wierd problems like this. Inspect the O2 wiring and consider replacing the sensor if it's been a while.

Pull the crank position sensor and check it for hitting the tone wheel, if trans was pulled, won't be the first i have seen broken or bent tone wheel

DING!

Also another potential problem is low battery voltage. How old is battery?
