Google "Doug Herbert Performance" in Lincolnton,NC. That's Chet Herbert's son Doug, the same NHRA nitro Doug.

You have to download the pdf file for their catalog to see the big block listings. On their cam/valvetrain link it only lists smallblock grinds for some reason.

Everytime a customer shows up with Herbert cam box we know it will be down on power vs. just about anything else--all of my experience has been with Herbert rollers but man! I don't care what the specs say--they are not a good choice IMO. The Summit #6401 Hyd for BB is a cheapo and a fantastic cam for street applications. For a solid I would save my $$ and get a good known cam from a good engine shop--get help picking it out so you have a good combo.

I've got the .600 lift, 270 at 050 solid cam sitting on a shelf. Actual lift worked out to .583-.585 ish. I don't recall the actual .050 dur numbers. But, Its was cheap, like $49 25 years ago. At that time I went with the mopar 590 cam. I'll stick the Herbert in something some day.

Go to dougherbert.com. They still make that cam. HERCD5X is the model#. It's $99 bucks for the cam. Still pretty cheap
