Hello I have 2 68-70 Rallye b body instrumnet clusters and on the back of them is a voltage limiter. My question is one of the voltage limiteres has the 3 terminals that plug into the circuit board the other has an extra connector on the back side of it for a wire to hook up to. What is it for ?
Thanks!
Dave

it was for a capacitor- it was on that terminal and the case to ground- when the voltage limiter opened & closed it's contacts a nosie was generated- the radio would pick it up and you would hear it!

Both of my guage cluster have the capacitor on them and they plug into the middle slot of the three terminals that plug in to the circuit board. So unless there were 2 capicator wich I dont think would have the extr terminal is for what ?

IF that terminl is attached to the case itself it will be an extra ground.

Its attached to the metal case of the limiter on the back of it. Why would it have a ground? Never seen one like this.

One of the three legs is also a ground. It's just a universal fit limiter.
