I was dry fitting my timing chain and noticed the crank gear does not have an interference fit onto the shaft. Is this correct I have done many small block rebuilds and don't beieve I have experienced this? Could you please help?

Sounds right to me, it shouldn't be loose once it's as far on as it can go, but it slides right on and off..
