I'm changing from a 318 to a 360 and i swapped over all the pulleys and brackets from the 318 to the 360, but the belts all seem too long now. Is that normal? I figured the 318 belts would work. Am I going crazy or do I have somethongbolted on or aligned wrong. If anyone has pics of a LA 360 with all brackets set up that would be helpful.Car has a/c and power steering.

should be identical. i went from a 318 to 360 and everything fit perfect. As far as accessories go, there is no difference between the two.

You know, I think I figured it out. The 360 had a non-a/c water pump, and i didn't swap it out for my "with" a/c water pump. It's the only piece I didn't swap out, and it looks like it will raise the location of the a/c compressor and tighten up the slack. I'll try it tomorrow.

the a/c and non a/c deal is all in the pulleys

if you used all the 318 pullys on the 360 it should go back together as it was

if the belts are too long now,something is out of adjustment or not mounted correct position

post a couple pics of what you have mounted up so we can see

it should be fairly ez to set up...just need a looky see at it

Double check your alternator brackets.... I had the same problem and it was in that area somewhere. It's been a few years, I don't remember exactly what, but I had the a bolt in the wrong hole on the alternator bracket, and even went to the parts store to order shorter belts before I figured it out.
