Not sure if this is old news or not but both the Sox & Martin 71 Cuda and Grumpy Jenkins 70 Camaro will be on the auction block this January at Mecum. Hopefully they are both the real deal and will see the track again someday soon.

History ?? Ronnie won more in that 71 Cuda in one year then he did in any other car as far as I know. When you say he was dominate in the 70 and 71 Pro Stock years this car won the most races of any car. He won more in 71 then he did in 70. I believe he ran 9.50's at Gainsville that year and the closet car to him was the Motown Missle which was in the 9.60's. He won that Gator Nationals race along with about 10 other races that year between NHRA and AHRA. Dominate.........................oh yes Ronnie Sox won everything in site in 71 and Herb McCandless was racing with him in the S & M Duster. It was a great time for us Mopar fans untill NHRA slapped weight on the Mopars to slow them down. Thanks to Ronnie Sox 70 and 71 were Dominated by Mopars in Pro Stock.

As for that Bill Jenkins Camaro ???? No disrespect ment but I dont remember Jenkins winning any NHRA races in that car. Ron

According to a article in Super Chevy magazine

"However, as well engineered and thought out as Grumpy's newest Toy was, the car seemed to struggle in NHRA legal trim recording high 9.8's at best while chief rivals like Sox were running at least a tenth to two tenths of a second quicker. As a match race car, though, the Camaro appeared to have found its niche as Jenkins would routinely run 9.40's with a big-inch "Mountain Motor" installed with all the weight out, but by then Jenkins was already moving on to bigger and better things."

Silly Chevy Boys

What was I thinking....
