I just use worm-drive clamps with the perforated band, and I trim the extra "tail" on each one so it doesn't stick out.
For extending a radiator hose, run a length of hard tubing with a drain or bleed-vent in it and an AN cap.

I use the regular air craft clamps(worm drive) but if
you want put a clear plastic tube(plexi) in the joint
of the 2 hoses... that way you can see if coolant is
flowing... thats what I do... I have about 2" visible

I don't know if they still make them, but Gates used to make a plastic/nylon type band that fit tight on the hose, then you used a heat gun to shrink them like shrink tubing. They were available in several sizes, to fit about any hose combination that could come up. It was a 'one time' deal,,if you had to take it off,, they made a tool to cut them off with. The tool was designed to not damage the hose. I just used a Stanley knife and was careful with no problems. They looked very good and a clean install. I had no leakage problems with them. Used them on street/show type cars.
