Just curious as to what brand and material do you use. What HP are you making and what is you're bearing life.

I have used most of the popular brands and style bearing for the last 40 yrs or so. I use to only use race Clevite tri metal CL77 rod nbearings and the appropriate main bearing part # in most of my cars, I would use the Clevite babbit bearings(and still do) in stick shift cars. Once Clevite got bought out by Michigan and others subsequent holding companys I ended up switiching to the Federal Mogul and Speed Pro tri metal race bearings, I do use there HD narrow full groove truck main bearings in all of my motors along with the appropriate part number, usually BB Chevy , race rod bearings for the rod sizes I'm using Lots of choices out there, make your choice

Kings on the rods and Clevite full grove on the mains of my 408. I would've used Kings on the mains but they don't make them for the 360, only the 340 sized mains.

That's not true unless it's a recent development.
I have king mains in my 408 and used clevites on the rods.

Unfortunately I dont think I still have the part number. I got them from Brian H.

King on the rods and Federal Mogual race on the mains. The Kings were too tight on the mains (after align boring) to suit me, Todd at Competition Wedge sugusted the FM bearings, they were a better "fit" for me.
I only have one season on them (approx 300 passes)so far. I might pull them this winter and check them. I'm expecting another 300 plus pass season next year.

ACL on rods and mains. no extra machining was required and had .002" clearance on both with all new parts. i'm thinking i may try their coated bearing next time.
