So I found a HEMI block for sale and it has 2 small hairline cracks in the main webbing. The block is for $2800 and seems to look nice. I was wondering approximately how much would it cost to fix the block and have a machine shop build the rest of the engine. Thank you

A lot more than buying a new block , you can buy a new world block for about the same price as that used and abused unit , then you still have to spend money to fix the used and abused unit .

There is a brand new world Hemi block for sale here on Moparts,in the Hemi engine for sale section for $2700.00. Save yourself a lot of grief and headace's that goes along with using a wounded block. It cost a lot to build a Hemi engine from scratch, and to have the block fail on you after spending a ton of money on machine work, would be a costly error. The only reason to fix a block like that would be if it was the matching numbers engine to an original Hemi car. I'd still be leary about stressing a repaired block. It would only be good for a show poodle.

The main webbing is not a place that you want to fix and be able to rely on it later. As stated above you can find a good, unused block for the same price. If you shop for deals you can put a Hemi together for around $15k, give or take.

It can be repaired, but even then, would only want to trust it in a street stock type of build. If it's a vintage block, let the resto guys and move on to something else.

When I built my hemi, I found new blocks to be a much better option as I wan't looking for a perfect resto. The used stuff always seemed to be run hard and put away wet.
