Can't find the old pictures on my Computer. But, the cowl hood really kills the car. I had a 72 Demon scoop I had enlarged the opening 100% and raised about 2". It looked great IMO. Problem is forward facing hood mounted scoops try to peel off at 170MPH.
I would like to run the Tri Aero scoop mounted to the carb but need a new Carbon Fiber flat hood. VFN does not want to make Carbon Fiber at this time. What do you guys think of that scoop on this car?

Where was this picture taken? Cecil County MD The crew guy looks like Anthony. He only went to two races with me Cecil County and National Trail. I'm pretty sure that is not National Trail because they have bleachers behind their fence.
I dont know, Leon. I saw it somewhere and saved it!

It's not a '65 but it's a '66. Bought it for my dad a few years ago and we restored it to this a little each winter. He races it and drives it everywhere. He won the Sportsman class in the local Mopar series this year.

That car is here in Va and the guy who built that is really a neat guy.He did all the work himself using K car bumpers and a host of other cool little things. Really nice cool car. He just finished up a model T truck that he turned into an extended cab with a 5.0 EFI powerplant.Super cool.

Thanks BIGDAD I always wanted a pic of Petty's Barracuda. My distant cousin's husband Freman Treadway built that car when he worked for Petty. My uncle match raced him with a Ford Falcon at Roxboro NC.
I used to have a pic of a 65 on the front of a Summit sale flyer. It was light green or yellow and had a 72 Duster scoop on it and no front bumper. It had to have been in the mid 90's as this is where I got the idea to do that scoop. I used to be a copy cat too.LOL
That Barracuda of Petty's is the only car my Uncle ever admitted to have beaten him every pass up the track. He said he would leave in the falcon ahead of Petty and the ole hemi would pull around him at the stripe. For those that know Roxboro they used to run 1/4 mile there.

Wes, all of us that love the 65 Barracuda have probably seen that footage or heard about it. Petty was on a hiatus from oval track racing and built the Cuda for some match racing which was very popular at the time. Maybe his credintuals as a great GN driver did not prepare him for the wild beast that the Cuda surely was. I dont know all the particualrs(track, driver, car??)...does anybody? Chime in if you do.

You can't get much under them stock.
With the springs moved under the frame and a mini tub I got an N50-15 M&H or a 28X12.5 MT or a 28X10 slick.

So what's wrong with 63?
FYI, my first car in high school was a '65 Formula S Barracuda. What a ride for a youngster. The fold down back seat and trunk panel made for some good times too.

Here's a couple more pics of my friends car that B1fish540 requested. The paint job has already been copied by a few other people and even some GM owners. The inside looks just as good as the outside but I don't have any pics of the inside. But could get some I'm sure.
Thanks, love that car!

Hey bigdad thanks for the post, my Dad and I spent alot (and I mean alot) of late nights and weekends scratching our heads, engineering, fabricating, and drinking beer to get the 1956 354 inch HEMI to fit into a stock front suspension early a-body. Misc. components etc: the front brake set up is '74 Dart Swinger Disc set-up w/ manual steering (4 1/2 bolt pattern), PST kit, fire wall relocated 2 inches, stock exhaust manifolds from 1956, custom exhaust pipes(20+hours in fab), big-block t-bars, TH350 trans, center sump oil pan (modified +/-2qts.), stock /6 K-frame w/ homemade motor mounts, custom everything... and now nothing but fun, fun, fun with a (stock) HEMI powered '65 Valiant Thanks Brian & Gordy
