depends on the current condition the car is in.
Is the old one and all related trim already out - ? if so, thats about right
does the shop have to remeove and replace all related trim, ? if so thats WAY cheap
an example,
We just had a new Seat covers ( front and rear ) the headliner, vinyl top, NEW ft windshield, an excellant used rear glass, ALL exterior stainless trim was repaired removing every scratch nick and ding to be found and polished to a mirror shine( I redid all the interior trim myself )
Shop installed everything. seat covers , headliner and the vinyl top material was supplied by me . Price including the cost of the ft and rear glass was just over $2000
By most peoples standards it was not cheap. But I know and trust the owner of said shop and the quality of the work is far outweighed the price once it's all done.
Bridges Auto Upholstery in Independance Ky did and will continue to do any interiors I have done

If you figure a pro could charge $75-100 an hour, and maybe it takes a good experienced installer 2 or 3 hours? Plus a heat gun and glue. So yeah, maybe $300 could be the going price for a good job. I found a old timer word-of-mouth guy locally here in upstate NY who installed my vinyl top plus the headliner for $100 each in labor. $200 total. I supplied the vinyls (repops). He brought and used his own glues. I don't know how long it took him, but he was gone by the time I came home from work. I know that was a good deal.

I did my 1st one (65 dart) w the perforated? fabric and it was not bad ex for the sail panel area, you have to be patient and stretch/glue/hook it correctly or it wont look good and mine was not good (OK for a DD beater though) and I'll do better on the next one. Takes PATIENCE & if you lose it walk away then come back.

Car's just been painted. No glass, glass seals, or interior what so ever. Should be smooth sailing for the shop to be working in there. All the bows are still in the old head liner so as to know where to put them back correctly (old head liner is out). I was just wondering about the money part. I've never had a shop do this. I've always bartered for this kind of work. But my go to guy flaked on me this time.

I took my '73 to a local upholstery/graphics shop. They sub out headliners to a friend that travels around and installs at several shops and will also come to your home if car is not driveable. He charged me $125, I supplied the liner and nothing was out of the car. His actual rate was $150, but the shop installed my Legendary covers for $400 and he gave me a discount.

I just paid that same amount for the headliner install on my 1970 e-body, and they came out to my house to do it and the vinyl top. The guy made it look easy, but I knew by watching him it wasn't. The correct glue is critical.
I had the trim, glass and anything else out of the car and will put it back in myself. I did the prep and sealing of the metal prior to puting Dynamat Exteme and then 1/2" thick foil sided insulating pad up there first.

I would rather have the satisfaction that a professional did it right the first time. And a real shop will warranty their work, so if it isn't right you can blame them! Plus here in NorCal you can get interior work done really cheap. I was quoted around $150 installed by numerous shops here in Modesto. And they supply the liner.
$150 is a great price, but I also agree that nothing compares to the satisfaction of DIY.
