With the leaf springs out of the way and a stock wheel tub, how big a tire can fit in a 1969 Cuda?? Relocating the leaf springs requires cutting the frame and we dont want to do that to the Cuda. We are thinking that a ladder bar setup MAY be less intrusive. Any thoughts?

29x9 Goodyears, 8 1/2 wide Centerlines, rear spaced back 1 inch, offset shackle kit, stock tubs
I like the way your car launches with a small tire.

Thanks guys! Bigtime, we also have a 69 Dart and between the two cars, the Cudas 1/4 panels actually bulge out giving a little more room width wise than my Dart. Are your Darts 1/4 pulled out slightly? Your car is killer looking! Rob, You are right on the tire diameter being the problem, we have the 275-60/15 drag radials and they are pretty much maxed out. We arent willing to cut the front 1/4 lip off either. I know my Stock Eliminator buddies cut the front lip off and they fit the 30X9 Drag Radial Slick. That would be great if I could fit that tire. Moving the wheel back a little may buy us some more room for sure. We will see. Does anyone think the ladder bar setup would be beneficial over the CalTracs? What about the ladder bar setup being less intrusive to the car itself?

I gave them a tug when i put the 12" wide wheels on but my car needs quarters anyway. the guy previous to me just mudded up a rust panel over the stock one. the guys using TT5's on 10" rims seem to be good. oh and yes i moved my rear back 1.5" also. more ground clearence with the ladder bar over the leaf and cal trac

Look at Brian's IMM Duster and see what it took to put the ladder bars on.

His upper shock mounts have holes cut in the trunk floor. I don't think Sloan want's to cut the floor.
Brian's Duster does sit REALLY nice.
