I need to find a radiator for my 49 Dodge, with a big block. The car was sectioned and cant' line up fenders without radiator support. Looking at cheapest alternatives. Dimensions I could fit up to 30" wide X 20" tall. Saw some cheap ones at summit and ebay, aluminum ones, don't know if they're OK?

An aluminum rad will probably the about the only type you will find that will fit in that size limitation. They seem to work well with most dirt track race cars, so I don't see why they wouldn't work on the street.

You also need to make sure you leave enough space for the hot air to exit from under the hood, if the hot air can not get out, air to cool can't get in. This seems to be an area many hot rod builders forget about. Gene

I found a few aluminum aftermarket ones, but unsure of what ones would be OK, seeing some jegs or Summit, Norther or Be Cool ones are $150-$200, while some like griffin are $550. Going to order one from Jegs for $159, 30 X 19" should be fine.

It is a crossflow, 30" wide X 19" tall, haven't decided on one yet.

I think if you have enough airflow that 30x19 will work just fine with an electric fan.

'Nice talking to you the other day bud!
