Whats the history on the Challenger?

The pics you posted are SS/DA cars not ProStock.

The Motor wheel Spyders were used by alot of Stock class racers and some used on Early ProStocks. I heard Motor Wheel gave the wheels to racers? The other wheels are Motor Wheel Fleas. Rear wheels were called Fly's, front/Fleas. They were the lightest wheel you could get back in the day. VERY hard to come by now days, and when you do they are expensive. Those Mag Spyders are probably more rare then Fly's... You also saw more Spyders on cars like Oldsmobiles. Not too often on Mopars.

Most of the RACE cars of this era were using the Jones/Motorola, Stahl or Moroso mechanical tach. These have a cable from the back of the tack into the dist. housing. Of course you had to have the dist. that was conpatable to the cable drive tach. The Sun Super tach that you are showing was the one to have for street cars but if you are going for the accurate race look, the mechanical cable drive one is the way to go. [/quote

I agree and don't forget the mechanical SW rev limiter that t'd into the tach cable.

Leave the gun.......take the Cannoli's....Mike

1) Hahn/Norwood 70 Hemi Cuda was rolled.

2) The 71 Cuda has been found along with the original motor, but I haven't heard anything about since.

Would love to hear more about it.

http://www.bobnorwood.com/Norwood%20Story.htm

Norwood's passion for automobiles started at a young age. Bob Norwood began his racing career at age 13, driving a 1946 Ford Coupe, in Kansas where he competed in his first drag race. He continued drag racing while in high school, driving a six cylinder GMC G-Gas Coupe and later an A-Sports Corvette. After graduation Anderson Motors, a Chrysler dealer, sponsored Norwood requiring him to "get rid of the Corvette." Instead, they provided an altered wheel base funny car, an AFX Hemi Plymouth, following with three Hahn SS/DA Hemi-Cuda's. In 1971 he raced superstocks in a Hemi-Cuda reached number two in the world A/FC point standings. Norwood raced an AA/FC with Dale Armstrong and eventually moved to race the Lone Star Flyer, a BB/FC car.

Norwood had 2 70 Cuda's, the one that was rolled and another that he ran into 71. Looking at the vinyl top and the rear wing this 70 may have been converted to the 71 that was at the Ontario Supernationals.

The 71 was in HR magazine. I have a pic. somewhere. It was a Bahama Yellow, auto, louvers, auto car that was taken off Hahns lot and converted. The motor from the wrecked car went into the 71 and raced for only a season or 2 before Norwood went on to prostock.

I have the VIN # to the 71 car, but since its somewhat in hiding I won't reveal it.
