Found a new unused block I would like to purchase but cant find any info what so ever on it. It is an A8 with 60 mm cam and comes with front geardrive. part # is P4510051. Not the same # as my block but looks exactly the same. Anyone know where to find info? nothing came up on GOOGLE!

The number on the block isen't a part#.It is the casting number.

I think Leigh would agree with me.... Stay far away from the aluminum sprint car blocks.

If I remember correctly those don't have a provision for a starter, be prepared to push start or fabricate a way to start it. I know the earlier ones were that way

I have used one for the past 3 years. Its simple! Bolt the starter to the midplate. Best Mopar block available in my opinion. Never a single issue. Ran it with a 425 shot of NOS. And 38# of boost with a procharger. Never an issue.

Good deal! Leigh and I had experience with the old aluminum blocks and they were a night mare and a money pit... I haven't had any experience with the A8. I figured they were similar to original.

Never assume

Mike I looked into just machining everything off the front. Make a provision out of billet to use a Webber belt drive. Weld or bolt it to the aluminum block. Never heard any complaints with the gear drive but I would prefer the belt.

The limited bore and deck heights are the only reason I never ran the alluminum block.

I know that. The aluminum sprint car block I had didn't have the little radius in the block for a starter. The block came straight off the pan rails and made a square corner. You couldn't bolt a starter to the bellhousing.

This one has the gear drive and 60 mm cam blank with it. I would think it is worth the $4500 asking price.

You don't need a radius in the block.the bellhousing on the alum. block is shorter because it don't have the bottom bolts like a stock block.I looked at your old block on a old post back in march 2010.and it is like my block. It works fine.Didn't you get that block from Kelly that use to be Darrel clarks from his dragster.
