So what are you saying here….are all threads that have to do with the past are now going to be banned on Moparts?

Nope... thats not at all what I am saying... believe
me I enjoyed the "good old days" and maybe I enjoy the
current times even better.... I'm sure I'll think
about the good old days much more when I'm on my
way out... but for me I spend more time in the current
and what needs to happen tomorrow... you know I
think I might have figured it out(a little) but if
you have spare time and just sitting around doing
nothing then thats when you start reminiscing, so
maybe I just dont allow my self that much spare time
(I am usually busy)

Idle hands are the devils playground The past makes for great stories, the present and future are awaiting to become those great stories.Don't spend time remembering yesterday, when you can be accomplishing new things to talk about. It's bad when your with friends and you say did I ever tell you about the time and they all say yes in concert. It's better to say "guess what I just did or guess what I'am going to do",you will have a very attentive bunch of listeners.

Biggest problem I have with the present is getting up and down on the creeper more than 30 times a day - and the garage should be warm enough by now to continue installing my CalTracs.

LOL... I put the "in the concrete" heating in my
shop and a hoist... the only way to fly... the concrete
is nice and warm.... plus the small instant boiler and pump
are quiet (very efficient)... so I dont listen to
a fan over my stereo

Me, too, it is only about 45 degres in my garage right now, trying to get some things done and had to come in for warm up and lunch break.

Oh, and despite how great the drag racing was in the past, I would not want to go back. You can still class race in NHRA on 1/4 mile any weekend you want to, it just might cost a little more and you might have to travel a little more.

I always enjoy talking about the past and all the memorys good and bad.It is great to share all the experiences and knowledge that one aquires over many years and makes for good bench racing.I get a kick from sitting around at events and watching the faces on the younger guys as stories are being told.Still the way I reflex the past is after each day sitting back and being thankful for having had another day to enjoy and looking forward to another one tommarrow. The past is the sum of all our yesterdays leading up to who we are today and the future is what we do with all we have experienced in the past. The best is when your sitting in that rocking chair on the porch with a big grin on your face remembering all the things you did in the past and not sitting there thinking about all the things you wished you had done.We are all here for a visit, make the most of it You never know when the clock stops ticking."It's not the years in life, but the life lived in the years"Abe Lincoln

Anyone who has been to my racing sight knows I love the past. It was simple then, a set of 50s, a 3/4 cam and a set of blackjacks and cherry bombs and you were a racer! You could go to the local track and for 10 bucks go head to head with the bigs of the local scene. You then had a weeks worth of stories for the boys! Me and my buddies have just as good of a time now a days, they just cost more and are fewer in between.
