Hey has anyone tried fitting a non-console b-body pistolgrip into a bench seat a-body?

Main question is will it hit the dash without modifying it

You will need the '71 up B Body bench seat shifter.

Hey, that looks cool. How does it fit your driving style? Is it close at hand?
I'm considering a swap to a different shifter handle, I could use the help.

Years ago I have one in my Dart (and will again)

71 bench style, non-console. In my case I cut a notch out of the handle down below the boot and bent the handle to where I was comfortable with it and then welded the notch up.

Since it is under the boot the work is out of sight. If my dusty memory is correct (the events took place 25 years ago!) I only had to move it back an inch or two tops to be comfortable.

Tried the short "e-body" style, there was far too much reaching going on...
