The small block is now in the car and I'm trying to hook up the tranny linkage. There is a bracket on the linkage that bolts to the tranny (pic)except that it does not seem to fit. A 904 came out, a 727 went in, what bracket do I need?

Because the 727 case is wider the torque shaft (Z-bar) and the bracket are different, you'll need to find the correct 727 parts.

Ok, thanks John. Anyone have this linkage for sale? It's for a small block 727 column shift Dart.

Put a want ad in the correct location but don't hold your breath waiting for a response , not many A bodies had a 727 and column shift so it's a rare part .

There is another thread on here from within the last week with some tips to modify what you have to fit .

I swapped trans between 904 and 727 many years ago in my 67 Cuda. I was able to make the same bracket work by putting the stud in the other way, and putting the bracket on the other side of the mounting ear, or something like that. Look it over, and think about it.
