the Dana 70 I've seen have the 70 cast into the right rear lower reinforcing rib for the axle tubes just like the 60 have Clean it carefully and check carefully, look everywhere else also, Dana Corp. was pretty good on identfying there products. The ring gear is 10 3/4 or bigger also, similar pinion sizes as the Dana 60 have I ran one in my 63 bracket Belevedere with 5.13 gears, it was a heavy rascal way heavier than the 8 3/4 I took out the 70 has a lot bigger axle tube also, the axles should be 35 splines also Let us know what you find

I don't think any internal parts froma Dana 60 will interchange (except maybe the pinion yoke, maybe not ) with the Dana 70 parts. Hopefully someone with more hands on or actual experience on the parts will chime in

Dana Made a bunch of 60s, Hd60s and 70s and Hd70s, I have seen 60s with 3"..3 1/2 and 4" tubes. And 70s with 3 1/2 and 4" tubes. If You don't work with them everyday they can look the same. The covers interchange, the pinion is the same dia. They do cast 60 or 70 on them, but I have seen them badly rusted and unreadable Give Me the Numbers off the Ring Gear, I can look them up and let You know what they are. I Own a Driveline Shop in Pa.
