I bought a 4-speed trans that was from a 1965 polara. Here is a picture of the tailshaft mount.Must be a pretty rare part. I can not imagine too many 1965 4-speed polaras being built.

It all looks like the right stuff. There weren't a whole lot of the 4 speeds built, but they're not extremely uncommon either.

Doesn't look anything like my "B" body setup. Wasn't the Polara a "C: body? Would the pedals, shifter, bellhousing, etc interchange?

Yes,the 65 Polara is a C body.
The C body 4 speed pedals, floor hump, linkage,Z bar,and trans crossmember do not interchange with B body.
Shifter is C body only and depends if it was console or bench. The Inland C body shifter is a rare piece, but often worn out.
Bellhousing will work since it is not a body related part.
The crossmember will work on 65 to 68 C body with 3 speed or four speed manual transmissions.
There are members of the following forums that are always looking for 4 speed C body schtuff..

the rubber mount looks like the 63-64-65 B-body automatic trans mount...

The crossmember is the same for automatic and manual transmissions for C bodies in 65. Only the rubber mount is different. The mounts face different directions so the rubber mount angles are different.
