Did they put 10 bolt 8 1/4" rears in 67 Coronet 500's? My buddy just picked this up and its got a 10 bolt underneath it. I've had a ton of 65-69 B-bodies over the years and never not saw at least a 8 3/4" hanging from the leaf springs. I was shocked. CAR: Dodge Coronet 500 2 Door Hardtop ENGINE: 318cid 2-bbl V8 TRANSMISSION: 3-Speed Automatic TIRES: 7.75 x 14 WSW BUILD DATE: November 29 1966 AXLE: 2.94 Rear Axle Ratio INTERIOR: Premium Trim Grade, Vinyl Bucket Seats. Copper Interior. PAINT: Monotone Medium Copper Metallic Paint. OTHER: Medium Copper Metallic Upper Door Frame Color. MOLDINGS: ABC OPTIONS: A1: 26in Radiator R1: AM Radio S1: Air Conditioning X1: Tinted Glass (all) abc OPTIONS: h7: Fender or Hood Mounted Turn Signal Indicators

Hemi Ram that thing is sweet! I'm totally digging the TT1, it really looks sharp on that body style. Man so somehow someone ruined a 8.75" and swapped it out with a 8.25" somewhere in its life. It doesnt even look like a 10 bolt 8.25" cover, axle tubes taper down at the housing too. Man, could it be a 10 bolt late model 7.25" I wonder. I've seen those in the 80's Dippys. Have to grab a pic and post it. Doesnt matter I guess, its gotta go either way. It does have a 2.9 tag on it too. See that probably screams late model right there. Seems the older stuff always called out 2.94 on the tags and the disco stuff and newer went to the 2.4 and 2.7 and such tags. Sorry guys I blew the page width across the screen but I had to blow up Hemi Rams ride pic. https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/upload2/6314964-67DodgeCoronetRT027.JPGTOO BIG\WIDE FOR MOPARTS!

My 67 Belvedere I 2-dr sedan (slant 6, 3 spd) came stock w/ a 7-1/4. Not sure if they used them behind V8s, though.
It's Swifty! Swifty, you toad sucker!

I just checked my 67 FSM, and it says that "all Belvedere 6 cylinder models except station wagons, taxi and police application will be equipped with the 7-1/4" axle assembly".
From what I've heard about factory screw-ups back then, I'm sure one could have found it's way into a 318 car, or could have been swapped later by someone.

It sounds like it might be a 9-1/4" from a later B body.
