I am currently using a Weiand tunnel ram with two Holley 750's on my 440 and have just been wondering if there would be any gains going to the Indy tunnel ram with the same carbs. A little about my set up 440 stock stroke, eddy heads cnc'd to max wedge ports by MCH, 11.3 to 1 comp, 270ish @ 50 bullet solid roller. The Weiand intake has been welded and opened up around the mounting flange to match the max wedge ports.

Way back when I couldn't get any large port tunnel rams I enlarged the runners on a standard tunnel ram all the way through to the plenum. The runners were significantly enlarged in cross section (~20-25%), and the car gained a couple of tenth's. Much of the original metal along the whole length of the top and even sides of the runners was gone and broke through. I believe a manifold with larger runners would probably give you another 20-30 hp, but I'm not sure offhand if the Indy might be a bit too large or not ( I don't know what the cross section of it is.) Raising the CR another 1.5-2 points would help to make use of the larger runners as well.

unless you add a spacer on at least one inch the Indy for a Hemi has much too small of a plenum. I have seen as much as 40 HP increase using one. When I added it over my ported Weiand there was little if any gain that I can remember

HEMIFRED, Does the Indy tunnel ram intake for the wedge need the spacer as well? I'm running 2 Terminators (2950 cfm) on it.Thanks

at 600 hp, i would say that the weiand is a better choice. i still use a weiand on a mw port and it runs better than i thought it would

My brother has a weiand ram with 750 dps and makes 600 hp. std stroke 440,edelbrock heads solid cam, pump fuel engine. 10.7 @ 125.5 in a 3700 lb street car. His ram has been port matched and a light clean up.

I would guess yes. from what I remember it's nearly identical to the hemi. just look around at any sheet tunnel . i have seen small blocks with larger ones
