is there any advantage to running shorty headers over full lengthheaders? seems to me that the concensus is that torque and HP are better with full length. is just a space issue that makes some run with the shorties? edumacate me

To the best of my knowledge yes. More performance than iron ex manifolds (even HP's) but as you stated not as beneficial a full length ones but less fitment probs (assuming your choice will clear the steering box ).

live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

and dont dump right at the steering centerlink wich could be another thing with shortys
long headers makes more torque compared to short headers, full lenght headers will most of the time make more hp aswell mostly due to the fact that they are usualy better sized

Full length headers will offer more performance than shorties.... Till the first time you bottom out & hammer the lower header tubes......

last bit is not a problem if you either spend the litle extra that means you wont have that problem and will be able to keep your headers for a much longer time meaning you save money or just build your own,not all that hard if you just have the tools and alitle time at hand

Go with full length. You will always wonder how much more power you could have had. Especially if you take it to the strip.

My opinion is if your looking for that last tiny bit then full length but better fitting and flow much better than manifold I went with shorties big block ebody.
