67 cuda with 440,727, ford 9 inch with caltracs and 29by 12 15 tires and weld wheels weighing 2835 pounds to same car, same motor, and trans to allston 4 link and much shorter rearend with 33 inch tall tire, weighing 2780 pounds, only a savings of 58 pounds. I had my doubts on weight savings at all as there is a lot of new iron and tin under this thing. Tim

How much heavier is the bigger tire/rim combination???

60 pounds is 60 pounds. Find another 40 pounds somewhere and it's like you added about 30hp, N/A. Not too bad.

All ready have aerospace on the front, rim and tire weight for sure are more, bigger rim, bigger tire.Another change was bg 280 pump to aerospace 350, latter pump is a bit heavier in the hands.Yes I agree 60 pounds is 60 pounds. Should be fun giguring the 4 link out, Tim

Every 58 pounds removed is a good thing. And the 4-link and bigger tires should make it a better race car, IMO.

I would be happy if my car was down to that weight. It is 2985 and with me and my gear the total is 3220.

The smallest tire that "works" will always be the quickest.

Get rid of the drum brakes in favor of some Aerospace discs would free up a few pounds.
