Pretty small box compared to the 66 and up. 3 bolts on the firewall, and 2 or 3 supports under the dash, plus the fresh air connection. shouldn't take more than a few hours to pull it out. then you have to split it open to get the core out.

Won't the radio have to come out first or anything else besides the supports? Also, what about the heater control valve?? Could that be bad as well or maybe the problem? Thanks very much.

Andrewh master A Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 8,685	it has been 5 years since I pulled mine, so not sure on some of the details. my radio was aftermarket. cables on the box have to be removed for the heater control. Don't recall where teh valve mounts.

T Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 21,079 Niles , Ohio	The seal on the heater valve could be leaking.Yes the whole box has to come out.That and mark the vacuum lines and dont bend the heat cable.I have a complete box in the garage but its been probally 10 years since zi pulled it out of my parts car.The air hoses will probally fall apart if you arent careful.Rocky Chrysler Firepower

I have a buddy who re-cores with new material for around $200. A radiator shop near you should be able to help. Seen a few cars where using what looked like a good core, ruined brand new carpeting soon after.

Contact.. http://www.classicheaters.com/ They can rebuild yours, takes about a week, provided they have the core materials in-stock. Just my $0.02...
