Many of the early 70's 440 engines used a single Carter AVS 4966S carb. Can anyone tell me the size of this carb? Thanks!

The 4966 is 625 CFM. It does not have the bigger primaries like the 440 HP cars had in the late 60s. It is that same size as the 383 and 340 cars used.

4966 is from a 71 lo po 440. It isn't a 750 like others have already said.

It could be, depends on where he is putting that carter and possibly how many he is using. Two on a Max Wedge cross ram could be a racing application.
