Any news on the Edelbrock RPM Xtreme Chrysler 440 heads
I think they got voted out (along w/ a bunch of Democrats) as a result of the economic outlook.

I'm sure that was part of the issue. From what I heard, the vendor who did a lot of the CNC work for Edelbrock went under and so a bunch of projects under development were cancelled or delayed.
That couldn't be the whole story though because Edelbrock could obviously ship heads to Modern for CNC work if they wanted. So there must be some sort of "it isn't worth it" decision going on also.
That would seem logical..afterall, do we really need another street/strip head for our big blocks? Sure, the idea is cool....to have a street/bolt-on head that flows close to the Victor...but we already have the RPM, Stealth, and indy EZ, plus the MP version of the Eddies.

It ain't Vic, Jr's, deal anymore is it? Didn't Edelbrock get bought out by some German firm? They probably don't give a rat's @ss about obscure new heads for American engines that haven't been production-built for over 30 years now.
dont say that now it will be dont buy its made in Germany....

No, just someone holding the paper on the financing. Sort of like how a bank would "own" a part of a company. Just a way to raise cash.

i get the point, but dont forget that germany are incredible when it comes to enginering, they are wellknown to realy go for whatever they are doing and taking anything as far as is even inhumanly possible, to be honest i like american stuff since it is so simple and idiotproff made and still well designed, but i can only imagine how good of a product you could get if edelbrock managed to use all the best of the american way while implementing the best of what the germans has to offer, im not trying to stirr a pot or hurt anyones feeling in anyway but if that could be done there could be some even better products comming

Any new heads are better than no heads at all. That's our problem with the high prices,we only have one or two companies making them. They can charge what ever they want.

Wait a second. I dont think Mercedes did anything for Mopar.
some time ago, i saw a mercedes cylinderhead i would guestimate that it was from the 90īs lying upside down and gues what? it had a chamber very simmilar to what you find in a 5.7/6.1 modern hemi, not saying the germans designed the thing but it sure gave me something to think about. never say never sometimes something may be a win win situation and sometimes its just someone wanting to make money on someone else

Nope...nobody will say that about the germans because they would actually design something and build it. People are ok with that...they just arn't ok with countries just taking someone elses product and and digitizing and copying it.

Nope. And Edelbrock has removed them from their web site, too. Guess they got the ol' flusheroo due to the economy.

I have to agree on the 300. I know there is quite a bit of German engineering all over the 300....

development was actually well underway on the LX's when the merger happened. in fact, Daimler delayed the release of them because of demands to redesign to incorporate daimler parts (steering column is the biggie, but also the rear axle, etc) to gain some economy of scale sourcing parts for the E-class.
