Chris3 and I are getting ready to pull the converter for a winter refresh I was looking for suggestions as to bumping up the stall speed. Right now were @ 4500 with a 29.5 tall tire 4.88 gear ( swap between 4.88 for 1/4s @ 5.13 for 1/8s)
in a 3200lbs car with a stock gear 727. Eng specs as follows 345CID / 12.5 comp j heads w/2.02 valves stock stroke crank mp p4120657 cam .590 lift .312 dur ( recom rpm 4000-7500 ) M-1 single plane intake. Just wondering if we should move closer to 5500 or just leave it where it's at ???

Chris

Yes! go with a looser TQ. my old hyd cammed 318 would normally go 1.93 60ft, went to a 8 inch PTC first pass out on the same track went 1.71 and picked up 4 mph.
