where to get 1966 starter rebuilt? #843147

do not want to use a "mini" . But am tired of parts store rebuilts lasting 5000 miles.

look in the yellow pages for alternator/starter/electric motor rebuilders.

You should be able to get a starter that looks just like the one in the car, except cleaner, at any of your major parts stores, in stock. Shouldnt have to get a mini.

have you also considered there might be a reason thats causing your starters to only last 5000 miles?

the 5000 miles wasnt just referring to this car, in last 5-10 years i had 4 store rebuilts fail on different cars.

Gotcha. I just get annoyed when people constantly replace the same part over and over without ever figuring out what caused it to fail the first time and then blast the manufacturer.

let your fingers do the walking, but expect to pay more and it may not look as nice and shiney .

I would think there would be an old school rebuilder in the Albany, NY area. Ask a local mechanic shop that has been in business for many years.
