How do you tell the difference between a slant 6 K-member and a small block V8 K-member in a '72 Duster? I am trying to install a 360 in this car, which had a 318 in it at some point, and none of the motor mounts I have work. The VIN number of the car decodes as an original slant 6 car, which makes me question whether the 318 that was in it had Schumacher conversion mounts to use with a Slant 6 K-member or if the V-8 K-member was retrofitted into it and I just need 360 A-body mounts. If I knew what K-member is in it, I will know which way to go.

If it was a 318 k member and you are trying to put the 360 into it using the 318 mounts, I believe you have to move the drivers side mount to the opposite side of the motor mount boss on the engine . . . then the 360 will fit . . . the slant 6 mount points would be much closer together than a V8 . . .
