Read the article today and it appears the new owner has some positive plans for the track. Really glad to hear it's going to be around for a while longer!

New owner is Norm Fox who owns an auto salvage buisness in Malvern,Oh.Reportedly paid $460,000 for track and most of the equipment. The next couple of years will be spent updating the facility and equipment. Fox would like to eventually add a cart track and possibly a road course.Fox is not a drag racer, but is a car guy and likes to road race.Meetings will be held soon with employees and racers for input and information. Our local paper is the Morning Journal, try www.morningjournalnews.com for more information.

This would be so much easier if I knew what I was doing...

This is great news indeed!! Such a nice location and facility. Dan was always to cheap to do things the right way, ie track prep and customer friendly. If things go right I will be more than happy to rent a spot and leave my Duster there for the season. Always loved this track, but was always so poorly prepped and EVERYONE was treated badly by Swindell. Beast of luck to you Mr. Fox!!!! Sincerely, Ken and Carrie Michalik

I'm thinking of contacting Mr. Fox and seeing if he could use my help. Maybe some announcing and whatever other help would be needed.

I think that would be a good idea Metal Circus

My buddy is in the same business as Mr. Fox, says he's a real nice guy, into racing @ Mid Ohio and from the conversation I had with my buddy, very aproachable

I just sent an email through the salvage yard site. I'm always torn between working the races and racing, but with money being what it is I'd probably be wiser to get in on the working side of it. I don't necessarily wish to manage the track, but announcing, race directing, and a bit of "event creation" might be right up my alley!

Great news!!

I earned my top alcohol dragster license at that track in 1995. Went to the finals against Jeff wilson a couple years after that at a NHRA div race.
I also burned my car to the ground at that track after the front end broke on a wheel stand which puntured the front mounted gas tank.

I also remember that track as being very short and almost not getting stopped in time every run, it was hairy to say the least.

Great little track, I liked it.

Maybe I should send himan addendum that says "will work for food". That'd be like a pay increase for me!
Butch, if I get hired I'll ask them to put cheesecake on the menu for you...with strawberries!

Just a sugestion. If anyone contacts Mr. Fox, you might suggest that he pays a visit to Norwalk to see how a tack should be run. After all they are the bench mark. The Holloween Clasic is comming up so he still has time.

The key to bringing the racers in is traction. If the track hooks racers will come. That track as we all know will never be a fast track because of it's elevation, but it still can be a great place to race if it hooks.
If the track is always a skating rink then the word travels and the racers will only go if they pay big money OR there is a special event, which cost more to put on.

Just my two cents.

I'll never fotget my reaction to the mountain I needed to scale before making a pass.
That track is where one my of my favorite picture was taken at the HEMI REUNION. it was used on the inside cover of the hardback book.

In the email I sent I suggested he talk to the Baders for many reasons, such as programming, scheduling, and leads to equipment. I haven't heard back from him, but I hope he at least had time to read it. I'm sure he's standing back and looking at the big picture and putting a plan together. I hope I can get involved and be helpful in some way!
