I have been having no luck with my headliner! My car: 1971 Charger R/T Headliner: white six bow It should be straight forward, No? The first one I bought had six listings for the bows, everything looked good until I got right down to put it in the car. When I started to hang the bows in their respective holes I realized that one end was going to come up short. My front header teeth at the windshield opening to the first bow is a bare minimum of 11.25 inches and the rear window opening teeth to the rear bow is minimum 9" in the center and 15" needed to stretch back to the sides of the window @ the top of the sail panels. The headliner I got had 22.5" at the rear edge to first bow (which is fine...I figured there would be some excess to be trimmed) but the front edge to the front listing is 6.5" or 7.5" maximum if I stretch the listing loop back as far as I can. Front window to first bow. Rear window to rearmost bow. headliner front edge to front bow listing. Rear edge to rearmost bow listing. Overall headliner I called and talked to the supplier, we verified it was the right package. The next question was "could it have been the wrong headliner in the package?" Nope, the number on the listing verified it to be the right one. Next question "could it have been sewn incorrectly?" "Send it back & we'll see" to expedite things I just ordered another rather than waiting for them to receive it before sending out another (being pretty confident it was sewn wrong) Well... fast forward to today, my package arrived and I'm all excited to install my headliner..... Guess what! SAME THING! Now I'm unsure what to do, The supplier has been very nice about it the first time around but I am wondering are they messing up or is there a problem with their supplier (PUI) or Am I screwing up here somehow. Like I said the company has been very good to work with and it's a family owned and run business so I don't want to do any badmouthing but I'm afraid they will think I'm the one doing something wrong since this is the second one and it won't fit. Where do I go??? Has anyone else had this problem with a PUI headliner? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok I had the same problem of not fitting with my headliner for my 72 Charger. It was from PUI which is just outside of Louisville. I gave them my original and they patterned a perfect fit from that. This was 1 1/2 years ago, Yours may have been old stock or they didnt continue with my pattern. Call them direct and explain, my name is Tim Armstrong and I am friends with an office personel there by the name of Joe Ford, she just retired last month but they all know her well and should resolve your problem. Feel free to drop our names. I remember mine being about an inch short at some of the bows. Hope this helps.

Simple answer to your problem....PUI headliners are crap...I thought everybody knew that.... If fact that's what "P" "U" stands for When ordering a headliner you must insist it's made by Legendary Auto Interiors...PERIORD

Well.... I have to disagree with this statement! Thank you "mopargem" I took your advice, called PUI and told them of my dilemma. The gentleman there was very helpful and looked into it. After comparing the dimensions I said were needed and what he said they were supposed to be, he checked and found their machine (CAD driven) was cutting them too short and that he would rectify it, make a new one and send it out immediately. Well, it came and is PERFECT! Very high quality and was very easy to install. I know you get what you pay for but I think some people tend to think if they pay a lot for something it's inherently better. I am not opposed to buying from Legendary. I purchased my door panels and carpet from them, but I will tell you I'm not at all impressed with the carpet and have seen better more correct carpet from less expensive suppliers. So all in all, if I had to do it over again... I would gladly do business with a company that sells their(PUI's) product. If nobody buys from the underdog and gives them feedback so they can improve or correct their product (as PUI did)The big dogs will take over and have a monopoly and set prices wherever they want. I think competition is good for the consumer all the way around! If a company doesn't respond to a customers valid complaints it won't be here very long anyway, so please give credit where credit is due. PUI headliners are a good quality product. They simply had a computer problem they weren't aware of and have now fixed it. And no, I didn't know PUI was crap. Is that statement made from first hand experience or hearsay? I have to say (first hand experience) their headliners are just fine and they were pleasant to deal with! that's my rant, over.

Every item has to be looked at individually. Very few companies have the best products of all others throughout their entire catalog. The ones that do are usually companies that are just filling a small niche for a specific product (or few specific products) in the market.
Glad to see someone was able to help you out and most likely a lot of people in the future. Hopefully their fix doesn't go away, again.
