Oh
I did mine about a year ago, sorry no pics. I dumped the gas and washed the tank a few times with soap and water. Layed out where my sump was to go and scribed a line around it. Using a hole saw, i drilled about 6? holes in the tank where the sump would cover. I deburred my holes and then mig welded my sump on a little at a time. I plugged the outled holes on the sump and filled the tank with water to check for leaks. If no leaks , wash the tank a few more times to remove the metal shavings from drilling your holes. I threw a magnet in the tank while i washed it out. That helped gather up the shavings. Blow the tank dry, and you are ready to run.

My buddy that does fab work welds tanks all the time.He runs exhaust in the tank before he welds the.He usually tigs his.I had one friend that was going to weld a tank years ago.Drained it flushed it and let it sit for a week.Went to weld and was one of the loudest booms you ever heard. That tank went probally 50 feet straight up.Thats why me fabricator friend always runs exhaust into them.Rocky
