I cant get the headlight switch knob off??? 71 b-body #830821

before I ruin the switch AND the knob, I figured Id ask here... is there any trick to taking the knob off?? I thought it should be just a press on deal with a little metal 'clip' inside, but im pulling and pulling and nothing what so ever. seems like it should be a no brainer

Make sure you are pushing the button straight down, also sometimes you only have to push it half or three quarters down and the knob will come out.

Try pulling the switch all the way on first, then depress the release button.

Hold outward on the knob while pushing the button...

thanks for your help! 5 minutes after the first post, I went out and it pulled right off. I was going to post my success but i forgot
