The first pic is a steering column, 67 Plymouth. It's a red that definitely never was glossy or metallic. More of a suede finish, I assume to reduce glare. It was also used on the dash frame.

The second pic is the paint chart for 66 Plymouths. Ignore the 1 year difference, they used the same paint is 66.

So...my question is what color is the steering column shown painted? It is not the Red Poly (metallic) nor is it the other red. I know because I have cans of each and they don't come close to matching.

The Red poly was used in the interior in 66 on things like the steering column and there is a definite difference between the column and the dash frame colors and gloss.

That took me to a post on forabodiesonly.

Thanks, that's the first time I have seen the interior colors listed. The only red I see is Aztec Maroon Poly....but no chip to look at.

It's a dry heat
interior hard and soft trim color codes and descriptions are in the applicable service manual

There are some places still avail that can mix the original lacquer toners and formulas.

Otherwise talk to Mike at Instrument Specialties
