Hello. I've been to the Nats the last couple of years and plan on racing next year. Question is I heard you can't stay at the track overnight? I'm a little worried to either leave the car at the track, or on my open trailer in a hotel parking lot.

So what do you guys do? Thanks

That is correct, no staying at the track. I would be much less worried with the car at the track, I and many friends have left the cars there with no problems whatsoever. I have heard that there has been problems at hotels tho.

I have contacted Mr.Belinda numerous times about this subject and he is not interested. I understand that he gets a cut from the camp grounds next to the track, I have even offered to pay him rather than staying in a
motel with the bed bed bug problem in Columbus. I know of a lot of people who will no longer attend this event because of this. I believe if you have a motor home or a trailer with living quarters, you should not have to unhook and go elsewhere. Lets get together and work on this for next year. Chrysler Classic has no problem with staying over.

Correct, you can’t stay at the track. If you have a fast car 10.0 and faster you will be disappointed with the track prep and long waits in the staging lanes at the NATs. Your 60 ft ET times will be way off. The NATs is a car show not a race event. End of rant!

I agree with most of what everyone has said. I race every year in the stick shift class. I leave the car and trailer at the track. We camp out at the KOA camp grounds, Buckeye Lake. I take a car cover for the car. The Nat's is NOT racer friendly. This event is more SHOW orientated than RACE. I like the type of competition in the stick class and the guys that race in it. That's the only reason I race each year. If you're interested in doing it the way I do, contact me next April or May. That's when we make our reservations and such. By the way.... My best time with my car was at the Nat's this year. Then I lowered it again at Pittsburgh Raceway Park a month later.

I raced at the NATs three times. The last time was in 2003, so the 90 degree weather and 90 % humidity last summer wasn’t in the equation. Belinda just won’t pay to have the track prepped. As I stated before the NATs is a car show and isn’t racer friendly.

Thanks for all the input guys. I just got my car back together and the Ntie stick class was one of those things I just want to do I guess.
I'll definitely have to get ahold of yah next spring. I just would be much more comfortable leaving my stuff next to a fellow moparts member since it's just an open trailer and nothing special.
Thanks again

Several Licking Co. sherriffs stay all night at the track along with a private eye firm. Stuff is safe there.

If you are at a hotel in the area noone should mess with your stuff.

One of the things i love about going to Nats and Carlisle is all of the cars at the hotels.

Usually the parking lots are filled with nothing but MOPARS.

I never hear of anyone having any problems.

I was hearing of cars stolen every year for a while
(at hotels)... he would be better off leaving it
at the track... thats what I did but it was in a
enclosed trailer and its a fifth wheel so its a bit
harder to walk away with the trailer...... JMO

I would defintaly leave the car at the track
if cars are being stolen. I had not heard about that.
but if this is happening, definatly leave it at the track.

I have known Mr.Belinda since the late 70's. He was a self-centered jerk back then & he is still one today. Everything has to be his way or he will have a fit. You can bet he is putting money in his pocket from more than just the Campgrounds.
He tells everyone he started the Mopar Nats, when in fact he had nothing to do with it till after about the 6th year.

Absolutely correct. I don't have a car that is show worthy.

the show is even a worse screwed up mess. the non judged area has many non mopars, cars just randomly parked any where. Judged show is parked nicely but u can wait 8+ hrs to be judged.
