What would it cost to build a 605 Hemi from the ground up using a dry sump system and fuel injection? I am thinking about building one of those, or ditching Mopar all together. My other engine choice is an Allstar 708 from Goodwinn Competiton racing engines. A GM based engine.

What are your goals and its intended usage? Kinda left that wide open. I run a 484 efi Hemi, why efi, why a Hemi?

For all out competition while still using a mopar, the Predator, or Stage V Millenium hemi heads will make a lot more power than what I have...All in all, its still cheaper to build a cheppy, but it is what it is.

Anybody is going to want more details on what you want to use it for & what you're putting it in. There's just too many variables to give you an answer.

My intended usage is in a 69 Sport Satellite.
I want a car that will run 9's easy and still be able to cruise at 70mph around 15-1600rpm. Hydraulic roller cam and maintenance free. All I want to do is change oil!
Looking to make around 1200hp on pump gas. No super chargers or turbos.
EFI because I am sick of carburetors!

What's so funny? If you gear a car down to run 1500 rpm at 70mph down the highway, it takes a lot of power to do that and run 9's. My car runs low 10's right now at 750hp, but spins 3500rpm at 70 mph.

1200hp and maintenance free dont usually go hand in hand especially N/A.

Todd at Goodwinn is a great guy. Should just ask him what he can build that will stay Mopar.

you might also consider a Gear Vendors overdrive. Eddie(elvis) says he loves his and now uses it in the 1/4 mile too.(running 8s)

I wish someone would make a 6 speed transmission that can handle tons of power, and still give good highway cruise. GV is a start, but I wish they had 2 over drives instead of just 1. Like a .6 or so.

1200 HP on pump gas and low maintenance? I dont see you doing that with a N/A Mopar engine without the use of a turbo or supercharger.

If money is no object, talk with Tim Banning at FHO. He can build you close to 700 inches of Stage V Hemi power. Tim is about the best there is for exotic hemis.

He went 7.73 using the GV OD unit....And that's a Predator engine he did that with.

I don't know if it is on the TCI website yet, but they have a 6 speed automatic, with paddle shift and an electronically controlled multi stall converter. This is all new stuff, and the engineer I know @ TCI said the Pro Stockers were going to try it also.

It is based off the 4L80E GM transmission.
I think he said they were $4,000.00..

Chris..

Predator Engine 1150hp prices starting at 23k

http://www.musclemotorsracing.com/engines/top-krate.html

The heart of any internal combustion engine are the cylinder heads. We use THE BEST flowing cylinder heads for big block Mopars, the Predator cylinder head (by Indy). This head features symmetrical intake and exhaust ports (IE: Pro Stock) capable of flowing over 540 CFM when we CNC port them. We actually have 2 proprietary intake port programs. The standard port utilizes a 2.400 intake and 1.850 exhaust valve sizes. The large CNC port program uses a 2.450 intake valve (titanium required). The small intake runner measures 440 cc’s, the large port measures 480 cc’s. The valves are actuated by T&D rocker arms that are available in 1.75, 1.80 and 1.90 rocker ratios. These rocker arms have no offset which makes them very stable at high engine speeds. We have raced them for years on engines with valve springs that have 450 psi seat pressure, over .950 cam lift and turning over 8500’s with no failures! The rest of the valvetrain(retainers, locks, springs, spring cups, cam and lifters) are supplied by Comp Cams. These are all bulletproof components that ensure durability that wins races!! Our standard Top Krate comes with a 1x4 cast intake manifold (2x4 optional) and sheet metal valve covers.

Performance: Our single 4bbl Top Krate makes 1150 HP @7400 and 900 ft lbs @ 5700. This should propel any 1850 lb dragster to 6.90’s-7.0 range on motor in decent air. Add a single stage and 6.50’s are no problem! A 2350 lbs. door car should run 7.40’s-7.50’s all motor and 6.90’s on a single stage. All of this performance can be had (intake to oil pan) for $22,999
